The Bean
100% Arabica | Wet-Hulled

The Place
Sumatra, Indonesia
Outside of coffee’s birthplace of Ethiopia, Indonesia was the first to widely cultivate our beloved bean. In 1711 the first Indonesian coffee beans were brought to Europe by the Dutch East India Company. The Sumatran beans were exported from the neighboring island of Java—giving rise to coffee’s famous nickname. Unlike other growing regions, most Sumatran coffees are processed using the “Giling Basah” method—literally translated as “wet grinding”. In contrast with other drying methods, the coffee is hulled while the bean is still semi-wet before being further dried. This process creates a cup with low acidity, and full body that is characteristic of Sumatran coffees.

The Taste
Luxuriously smooth with a hint of smoke, and deeply dark but never bitter. Havana at Dusk has a big, rich body that is equally indulgent with milk and sugar, or boldly black—whatever the heart desires. Each sip is an intensely jammy delight, with dark cherry, and cocoa notes. Perfect for when you want a pick-me-up that makes you feel like a million bucks.
